Ketarol HCL 500mg /10ml by Global Pharmaceutical / Amp
Ketarol (HCl) non barbiturate, sedative hypnotic used parenterally to provide anaesthesia for short diagnostic and surgical procedures. Ketarol (HCl) is arylcyclohexalamine chemically related to phencyclidine (PCP). Ketarol is a fairly short-acting anaesthetic that provides a profound, rapid, dissociative anesthesia and a short recovery time. Ketarol (HCl) is a desirable agent in patients who are hypotensive. Ketarol (HCl) can be used concomitantly with a muscle relaxants without complication because Ketarol (HCl) does not provide muscle relaxation. Ketarol efficacy is offset by the frequent occurrence of dysphoria. Ketarol received FDA approval in 1970. Although the exact mechanism of action is not known, Ketarol appears to be an agonist at CNS muscarinic acetylcholine-receptors and opiate-receptors.
